Tofino BC, has many nature hikes and trails many can be accessed by driving straight to the trail head parking lot. Maps of these trails are located in the parking lot and will give details. Just up the coastline by boat or air there are some fantastic trails both easy walking or difficult, if your looking for a challenge try the Lone Cone challenge! Once you get to the top the views are absolutely stunning!

Tonquin Beach Trail

Tonquin beach / trail is the closest to downtown Tofino. The trailhead winds through the forest on boardwalk and down a few sets of stairs to a couple small beaches.

Lighthouse Trail

Lighthouse trail runs between Tonquin Beach and Middle Beach and overlooks Templar Channel and with views of Wickaninnish Island.

Tofino Mudflat Trail

The Tofino mudflats is a great place to enjoy a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Birding is at it's best at low tide and should you want to go treking out into the flats bring a pair of boots as it's mucky!

Big Tree Trail

The Tofino Big Tree Trail is located on the tip of Meares Island across Browning Passage from Tofino, the Big Tree Trail trail weaves through old-growth forest to the massive "Market Tree" which is absolutely breathe taking and well worth the trip! The Big Tree Trail can only accesses by boat, several companies have daily trips to and from The Big Tree Trail.

Ahous Trail

The Ahous Trail spans the width of Vargas Island, this historic telegraph trail passes through bog areas and sand dunes. Carnivores ie wolves & cougars are common on Vargas Island. Make sure you are educated on the does and don't in the event you are confronted by a carnivore. The trail is fabulous and camping is aloud, make sure all food is kept in a safe and secure place and not in your tent!

Wildside Trail

The Wildside Trail winds through old growth forest and has stretches that are miles of beach. Cow Bay in Ahousat is one of the most beautiful stretches of this trail while the rest of the trail equally as beautiful and rich in culture flow through the rain forest! The Wildside Trail can only be accessed by boat, several Tofino companies offer daily trips to and from The Wild Side Trail head.
